Everyone has made it through September relatively unscathed, thanks to the incredible work undertaken by yourself and your teams.
As you begin to get used to the school you now find yourself in, with secondary colleagues clocking thousands of additional steps each day and primary colleagues noting quieter playgrounds with split lunches and staggered pickups you can finally begin to look forward half term, Halloween and Christmas.
There is so much joy and excitement to be found in schools at this time of year. Whilst there is no doubt this is an incredibly challenging time, try, if you can, to find 5 minutes each day to just be and appreciate all that is good and happy around you.

The family learning team have put together a variety of packages to engage with and help parents to support their children's learning. At present these focus on the primary phase, from January 2021 there will be courses available for the secondary phase in managing teenage anxiety and the transition to high school.
Information about the courses:
Our free and fun courses encourage parents, carers and grandparents to become involved in their child’s life so that they learn and grow together.
School for adults and their children aged 4 to 11 years (In school)
Courses are:
- Online
- Adult only (child can join too if schools are closed)
- 5 hours sessions, 1 week “Come and Try” followed by a 5 week course
- Variety of courses to enable adults to support their child’s learning with a focus on fun every day activities, building physical and emotional skills whilst developing English and Maths knowledge.
- Can be bespoke for an individual school targeting 6-12 adult learners
The types of families we are keen to help are:
Families with children aged 0 to 11 years.
Families in areas of deprivation and low adult literacy and numeracy skills.
Schools in decline or Requiring Improvement
