This term can often be the hardest of the year, the days get shorter, nights draw in, you leave for work in the dark, get home in the dark and the Christmas break seems months away. Sprinkle on top, settling in the new intake of staff and students, mock exams and rehearsals and it can feel never ending. Luckily the delight at seeing faces young and old excited by the prospect of Santa, snow and time with family is enough to keep most of us going through the last few weeks as the excitement builds.
This break is the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy time with friends and family, reconnecting with all the things that are important to you and to leave work to one side. As tempting as it can be to check emails, just do xyz, it is just as important to remember that you cannot pour from an empty cup and that you must take time to just be you and not a Headteacher.
Have a wonderful Christmas from all of us here at Educate Norfolk.

Message sent on behalf of David Board & Dave Jones, Early Career Framework Programme Co-Directors at UEA:
Dear Colleague
We are looking ahead to welcoming ECTs starting their induction in January 2023. Newly appointed ECTs will be able to join this year’s cohort and have access to all online training materials to date. They will then be able to join in with live sessions starting in the Spring term delivered by our highly experienced ECF Facilitators.
Schools have a range of options available to choose from and we are very pleased to invite you to register with our UEA offer, as a delivery partner for Capita and the University of Birmingham. Our offer is a fully funded provider-led programme, as we’re working with one of the 6 providers accredited by the DfE.
We are also very proud to be able to offer a Special Schools cohort for 2022/23. This cohort will be exclusively for ECTs and Mentors working in special schools. The programme will be delivered by facilitators experienced in working in a special school setting. This will allow us to deliver our ECF training with a focus on a special schools’ contexts.
Please see the attached flyer that provides information about our offer.

Working in Partnership with UEA
We see this ECF development as an opportunity to continue to shape our working relationships with schools and multi academy trusts. As a well-established provider of initial teacher education, this enables us to build on our training and support for new teachers to the profession. We believe this will lead to further ways for us to work collaboratively to support and strengthen teacher development, which ultimately will benefit our region’s children.
Kind regards
David Board and Dave Jones

Norfolk & Suffolk Science Learning Partnership - Primary
Each night there is a choice of workshops where experienced science leaders will share best practice and explore an aspect of Inclusive science. All sessions will include practical tips that you can try in your classroom the very next day. Each session is scheduled with its own link. All sessions will be run on zoom between 4-5pm. Each workshop costs £20 and you sign up for as many as you want to attend. We only expect schools to pay for one sign up per workshop and you can have as many teachers as you like around the screen - making this accessible and cost- effective CPD.
Once you sign up, we will send you the zoom link two weeks before the session is due to run. Then we will send the link again the night before to remind you.
The English Hub is pleased to be able to share several new free CPD opporunities for the new year. Further information on the sessions and information regarding booking is included in the flyers.
